Posi Klips offer a simple yet totally effective alternative to double track or slotted track systems. By engaging the short flange of the metal stud and then attaching to the inside flange of the ceiling track, Posi Klips provide deflection for both rated and non-rated walls.

Posi Klips can replace double track or slotted track systems in interior or exterior walls.
By varying track depth, Posi Klips are designed to handle diverse deflections.
Posi Klips effectively lock jamb or king studs at the frame while allowing for deflection.
Posi Klips reinforce any stud to a track connection while allowing for deflection.

Cost-Effective Alternative When considering unit cost plus ease of installation, Posi Klips are a smart alternative to traditional double track or slotted systems. By engaging the clips to the short flange of the metal stud, then attaching them to the inside flange of the ceiling track with two #6 tek screws, the studs are effectively locked at the frame while still allowing for necessary deflection.

Posi Klips are designed to be used with any stud, any track size, or any gauge. Posi Klips are sold in quantities of 500 clips and are available in 20 and 16 gauge.

Deflection Capabilities Posi Klips are designed to provide deflection for both rated and non-rated walls.

For non-rated walls, Posi Klips can be used with the deep leg track.
For rated walls, Posi Klips can be used with the deep leg track in conjunction with fire caulk or spray to achieve a fire rating.

Posi Klips can also be used for rated walls with the Fire Trak System to strengthen the connection between the stud and the track on deflections over 2 inches.

Steel Specifications Specifications for the 20 gauge and 16 gauge Posi Klips include the following:

20 Gauge Conforms to ASTM C-645
Steel conforms to ASTM A-653, minimum 33,000 ksi yield strength
Galvanized in accordance with ASTM-A-924, G-40

16 Gauge Conforms to ASTM C-645
Steel conforms to ASTM A-653, minimum 50,000 ksi yield strength
Galvanized in accordance with ASTM-A-924, G-60

Installation Posi Klips are attached to the inside flange(s) of the ceiling track with two #6 tek screws and engage the short flange of the metal studs as shown.
